Dimitra Thomaidou was born in Serres, Greece.
She studied Theater and Philosophy at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at Ioannina University and in Dilos Drama School Academy, Culture Management in DAM-Deutsche Akademie für Management and she is currently attending a Master of Arts at HfMT in Hamburg - Master Dramaturgy.
Throughout her studies -and afterwards, she has worked as a performer and dramaturg in state theatres as well as in free scenes with various directors and ensembles. Having completed her bachelor education, she was invited to attend research laboratories in Greece and France, where she started to develop the project label ‘HealingIsAPerformance’ that places a heavy emphasis on any possible poetic metaphor of daily life situations.
Since 2013, she is based in Berlin and works as a culture manager, theatre dramaturg and performer. Among other Berliner Institutes, she collaborated with Akademie der Künste, Deutsche Oper and Ballhaus Naunynstraße.
She writes poems, short stories, plays, essays and love letters.
She likes to explore human nature, to question and challenge herself and to share new ideas.
