The Game of Choices

A three-day workshop at TATWERK | PERFORMATIVE FORSCHUNG in Berlin culminating in a public performance on the theme Did you share a secret today? Participants engaged in an improvisational process, working with text material that was collected previously online and anonymously on the online platform The Game of Ideas http://thegameofideas.tumblr.com/ (the link is not active at the moment). The platform was launched a month before the workshop took place, and users had the chance to post their secrets anonymously. Having personal stories and confessions as a starting point, the workshop dove into the intimacy and vulnerability of secrets—their emotional weight, the ethics of sharing, and tools of deconstruction of the initial narrative. Through collaborative experimentation, participants shaped these fragments into a shared performance, reflecting on trust, audience engagement, and the relational dynamics of storytelling.

If I was a poet.

The workshop explored the interplay of speech and movement through free-association exercises, drawing on spontaneous verbal and physical impulses as raw material to uncover and observe connections between thought, emotion, and physicality. Using the technique of free association, participants were encouraged to follow the natural flow of their thoughts, allowing ideas, feelings, and memories to surface freely. These verbal impulses were simultaneously embodied, highlighting how physicality both shapes and expresses internal states.

Mapping Presence

A series of sessions that guided participants into an embodied exploration of presence and awareness. Using meditation techniques, breathwork, and reflective exercises, it invited participants to map their internal landscapes and investigate how inner states inform artistic choices. Through individual practice and collective reflection, participants examined the relationship between sensation, attention, and creative expression, gaining insights into how energy awareness can shape performance processes.
